Manage Import Maping

It is possible to configure a document to enable the importing of data from an external file source (e.g. a csv file). To configure the import mapping for a document, right-click on the document in the design view tree and select 'Manage Import Mapping'. If you wish to use the import mapping feature, you must select the 'Use import mapping' checkbox. If this is not selected, import mappings will not be aplied to the document. The table in this dialog contains a list of all entries in the document. If you wish to associate an entry with an external data source, you must input the appropriate column in the data source into the 'Column' field. Only column numbers can be entered here. Entries with a red background in the column field are ones that cannot be used with the import feature - these include text, derived entries, and composite entries. See the Collect user guide for information on how to import data into the study after you having configured the import and published your study. To try out the import feature before publishing your study, use the "Preview" feature within Create. To use the import mapping feature it is necessary that your import data source complies to the following standards: the first column must contain the identifier of the open participant for whom you wish to import data. No empty columns are allowed in your data source between this identifier column and the first column containing data. The first column containing data (after the identifier column) is column 1.
